More teams to test in Jerez, this time sharing the track with MotoGP™ teams

Another wave of testing is set to begin this week with the Circuito De Jerez hosting a full week of track time to WorldSBK and MotoGP™ teams, making for an interesting week ahead. Following the Aragon test last week, WorldSBK teams will get one more vital outing of track time before the testing ban comes into effect between December 21st until January 4th.

All eyes will be on the Milwaukee Aprilia team as Eugene Laverty makes his long awaited return alongside Lorenzo Savadori from Monday to Wednesday. Joining the Aprilia squad for their first winter outing is the Althea BMW Racing Team. Jordi Torres and Markus Reiterberger didn’t attend the test in Aragon and will have to make use of the track time at Jerez as best they can, while they share the track with their WorldSBK and MotoGP™ counterparts.

Kawasaki Racing Team, Honda WorldSBK Team, Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team and Aruba.it Racing – Ducati will all be making a track return in Jerez throughout the week, in what will be their second round of testing.

Reigning World Champion Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes will benefit from a further opportunity to develop their brand new Ninja ZX-10RR’s, which have already shown promise after topping the timesheets in Aragon. The KRT duo are set to make use of the whole week in Jerez, ensuring the best opportunity to iron out any bumps before the new year.

Stefan Bradl will be pleased to test his CBR1000RR Fireblade SP one more time before the 2017 model arrives in the new year, as he continues to become further accustomed to steel brakes and Pirelli tyres. The Honda squad will only be on track for testing on Monday and Tuesday.

Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team’s Alex Lowes and Michael van der Mark will continue developing the YZF-R1’s rear swing arm, whilst focusing on new electronics development ahead of the new season. Finally Aruba.it Racing – Ducati’s Marco Melandri and Chaz Davies will join the WorldSBK troop as they continue to improve their Ducati’s in a bid to hunt down last week’s protagonists Rea and Sykes.

Testing begins today, the 21st of November until Friday the 25th, with WorldSBK racers taking to the track on various days throughout the week.
